Cobar's very own rising country music star Kyle Cartner is fresh home from his debut performance at the 35th annual Gympie Music Muster.
Growing up listening to his father’s music records, Kyle has been bred to love country music. The former Peak Gold Mine employee packed his bags last year to chase his dreams, moving to the Country Music Capital of Australia, Tamworth, NSW.
2016 has seen Cartner perform at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, touring with The Viper Creek Band and scoring a spot on the “Emerging Artists Showcase” at the 35th annual Gympie Music Muster.
“To share the same stage as X-Factor’s Caitlyn Shadbolt and Golden Guitar winners O’Shea was a real buzz” said Kyle. “It was an awesome opportunity for me to step up and grow as an artist.”
This year, the Music Muster had over 45,000 attendees during the four-day festival, with crowds spread across four stages.
“To have people listening and excited about my own original music has been the highlight of my year so far” Cartner explained. “I’ve been working really hard song writing and performing this year. It has been a big reward to see it all pay off.”
In hope of recording his debut EP in 2017, Kyle has been working with Australia's finest songwriters, such as 2 x APRA song of the year nominee Matt Scullion, who has over 90 cuts and 4 Australian No.1 hits.
Kyle will be returning to Cobar later this year when he hits the road alongside the Adam Eckersley Band.
